What is the UP PCS J- Judicial service exam?
The Uttar Pradesh - Public Service Commission is a public service body created under Constitution of India to shortlist and select candidates for the public service jobs in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.
UP - PSC conducts various exam to fill up various position throughout different public agencies, via wriiten, practical, physical tests and interviews.
Recently, UP - PCS announced to fill vacancies in the District Court of UP. Any candidate with a law degree from a government recognized institute will be eligible to apply and appear to give the exam.

Paper No.1:General Knowledge:
This paper will be of 200 marks.
The question may include the questions from History of India and its culture, geography, politics, contemporary national issue and topics of social relevance. India and the World, Indian Economy, International Affairs and Institutions and development in the field of Science and Technology, Communications and Space. The paper will be such, that a well-educated person will be able to answer them without any special study.
Paper No.2: Language:
This paper will be of 200 marks.
It shall comprise four questions as specified below:-
(i) Essay to be written in English -60 marks
(ii) English Précis writing -60 marks
(iii) Translation of passage from Hindi to English -40 marks
(iv) Translation of passage from English to Hindi -40 marks
Paper No.3: Law-I (Substantive Law):
This paper will be of 200 marks.
Here the questions will be restricted to the field covered by - The law of contracts, the law of Partnership, the law concerning easements and torts. The Law relating to transfer of property including the principles of equity, specifically applicable thereto, the principal of Equity with special reference to the Law of trust and specific relief, Hindu Law and Mohammedan Law, and Constitutional Law. There will question for 50 marks from the subject of Constitutional law alone.
Paper No.4: Law II (Procedure and Evidence):
This paper will be of 200 marks.
In this paper, the question will come from law of evidence, the Criminal Procedure Code and Code of Civil Procedure, including the principles of pleading. The questions set will relate mainly to practical matters such as the framing of charges and issues the methods of dealing with the evidence of witnesses the writing of judgment and the conduct of cases generally but will not be restricted to them.
Paper No.5: Law III (Penal, Revenue and Local Laws):
This paper will be of 200 marks.
A question set be consisting of Indian Penal Code, the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act 1951, Uttar Pradesh Urban Buildings (Regulation of Letting, Rent, and Eviction) Act 1972. U.P. Municipalities Act, U.P. Panchayat Raj Act, U.P. Consolidation of Holdings Act, U.P. Urban (Planning and Development) Act 1973, together with rules framed under the aforesaid Acts.
C) Interview
It will be of 100 marks
There is no set pattern but candidates should have a thorough knowledge of the law
Required eligibility to apply - You must be a citizen of India to apply
To get the benefit of reservation, the candidates have to be a domicile of UP
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in law from a government recognized institute
Candidate should come under the age bracket of 22 - 35 years
A candidate from OBC background will get a 3-years relaxation in age
A candidate from SC/ST background will get a 5-years relaxation in age
