SSC CGL exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is one of the most important government exam conducted for the graduate student across India. Through the exam, SSC selects able candidates for various Departments and Ministries of Government of India and through its subordinate offices.
The SSC CGL 2018 is scheduled to be held in the first half of 2019 but the vacancies for the same is not yet announced by the department. The notification for SSC CGL 2019 is however expected to release after the CGL 2018 Tier I exams, which is indeed a great opportunity for all the aspiring graduates.
Some of the departments that select candidates through SSC CGL are –
- Tax Assistant in CBDT and CBEC
- Preventive Officers in Customs.
- Inspectors of Central Excise & Customs.
- Assistants in Ministries/Departments, Attached and the Subordinate office of the Indian Government
- The compiler in Registrar General of India
- Auditor Offices under C&AG, CGDA, CGA etc
- Divisional Accountant, Jr. Accountant, Auditor & UDC in various offices of Govt. of India.
- Sub-Inspectors in Central Bureau of Narcotics & CBI
- Assistant Enforcement Officer in Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue
- Inspectors of Income Tax.
- Accountant/ Junior Accountant
- Examiner in Customs.

How to apply online for SSC CGL?
- Go to the official website of SSC, at https://ssc.nic.in/
- LogIn or SignUp using your mobile number, email & password
- Fill up the application form
- Review the application for the details before submission
- Pay the application fee using a debit/credit card, net banking or e-challan form SBI
After successfully submitting the application you’ll be alerted through email/mobile number.
SSC CGL EXAM PATTERN –
These exams divided into multiple stages, dubbed as Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3, and Tier-4.
Any Bachelor’s degree holder (any stream) from a government recognized university can apply for the exams.
The application fee for General Category student is INR 100 but other casts have an exempt fee.
Tier I – It’ll be conducted on June 2019, through online with multiple choice questions (60
minutes)
Maximum marks – 200 & 0.50 will be deducted for each wrong answer
Tier II – It’ll have two papers with total 200 marks each on English and Quantitative
aptitude (120 minutes)
Apart from this for selecting Statistical Investigator Gr II & Compiler there will be
a third paper
Similarly to select Asst. Audit Officer Gazetted Group “B” there will be a fourth
paper
Tier III – It’ll be conducted to test the written skills of the candidates in Hindi/English (60
minutes)
It’ll be an offline test with pen and paper
Tier IV – It’s an exclusive exam conducted just for selecting candidates for some
particular posts
Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) – For the post of Tax Assistant (Income Tax &
Central Excise)
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) – For the post of MEA, CSS, Inspector (Preventive
Officer), Inspector (Central Excise) & Inspector (Examiner)

Tier I SSC CGL Syllabus 2018
– The questions cover the subjects of Reasoning, General Awareness, English and Quantitative Aptitude
Tier II SSC CGL Syllabus 2018
– The major sections of the questions in this exam cover the subjects of Statistic,
General Studies, English Language & Comprehension
Tier II SSC CGL Syllabus 2018
– It tests the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi
Students are here asked to write précis, application, letter, essays etc.
Tier IV SSC CGL Syllabus 2018
– It’s an exclusive exam conducted just for selecting candidates for some particular
posts

SSC CGL exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is one of the most important government exam conducted for the graduate student across India. Through the exam, SSC selects able candidates for various Departments and Ministries of Government of India and through its subordinate offices.
You can access the test via online which will give you a fair idea of question type, pattern, and syllabus in general. Apart from this a candidate can take the test for absolutely free and practice with them as they want.
But, make a note here that a candidate appearing for SSC CGL 2019 will be able to access the mock tests for 2019 only.
We know it very well from our long-standing experience with students from across the country that these exams are not at all easy to crack and demands a lot of dedication, But, preparation for exams like SSC CGL is not always enough if you don’t do it with smartness intact.
Work on your basics, manage time properly, focus on learning short-cuts and most importantly practice with the mock test. As these techniques are although well known most students ignore them entirely.
